Founder & CEO
As the Founder and CEO, Amy is the vision and energy behind White River Strategy. She is a perceptive and highly engaging strategic adviser, trainer, facilitator, and executive coach working with the world’s most elite leaders and organizations.
At White River Strategy, Amy sets the course for the organization and serves as a high level strategic advisor and executive coach for clients. Amy builds strategies, creates and supports growth and action plans, and empowers leaders and organizations in their efforts to find and sustain excellence.
She has extensive experience across a broad range of industries—including multi-billion-dollar organizations—in designing, delivering, and facilitating workshops, training seminars, and strategic retreats that allow teams to deliver their best work.
After years working as Jim Collins’ chief of staff, author of Good to Great, she took everything she learned about scaling ideas and organizations, creating strong platforms, and understanding the needs of the executive leader and set out to help leaders achieve impact. Prior to her work with Jim Collins, Amy served as an aide in the United States Senate and worked at El Pomar Foundation in Colorado Springs.
Amy is a graduate of CU Boulder and grew up in Rifle, Colorado. As a result of her upbringing, she has a strong understanding of and love for rural Colorado that deeply influences the work of White River Strategy. She currently resides in the Denver metro area with her husband Corey and two boys, Steele and Bodie.
Co-Founder & COO
Corey is responsible for all backend and internal operations of White River Strategy. Corey’s work behind the scenes enables our client facing team to execute projects seamlessly. As the COO, Corey is the mastermind behind all of our internal systems and processes, as well as all business operations for WRS. Additionally, Corey oversees WRS’ executive search services and manages our team of consultants and project managers.
With a background in construction, entrepreneurship, and management, Corey brings an expertise in scaling companies, managing teams, and driving sustainable growth. Prior to co-founding WRS with Amy, Corey was the CEO and co-founder of Hired on Demand, an app for the construction industry to facilitate labor sourcing and as a senior project manager in the construction industry.
Corey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management and Master of Business Administration, both from Colorado State University.
Corey grew up in Denver and currently lives in the metro area with Amy and their two sons.
When not working or chasing the boys around, you will find Corey in the mountains fishing, skiing, or on the river.
Executive Assistant & Office manager
Without Linda, White River Strategy would be far less organized and far less impactful. In her role as executive assistant and office manager, Linda is responsible for the coordination of all team meetings, the management of Amy’s calendar, and many of the backend logistics that allow projects to go off without a hitch. Linda approaches her work with a quick wit and an eye for detail. She has a knack for developing processes that bring organization and clarity to the firm every day.
Prior to joining White River Strategy in 2019, Linda spent over 20 years in PreK -12 education. Serving schools in many capacities, she finished her tenure in education at the district level coordinating assessments for over 55,000 students. Linda graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management.
Linda is a lifelong Coloradan and resides in the Denver area with her husband and two kitties. On weekends, you can find her tending to her garden, visiting family, or finding new hiking spots in the mountains.
Fun fact: Linda and her husband are making it a point to see as many National Parks as possible.
Mike specializes in facilitation, strategy and organizational development, transition management, and strategic grantmaking.
He brings 15 years of philanthropy sector experience, most recently as the director of community investment for Social Venture Partners (SVP) Seattle. As the director, he led all aspects of grantmaking strategy development, consulted with over 45 local nonprofits on their capacity building strategies, and advised hundreds of individual philanthropists. Prior to his career with SVP Seattle, he worked for El Pomar Foundation in Colorado.
Mike attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, receiving his degree in environmental biology and was also a scholar with the Presidents Leadership Class. He also has completed the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute at the University of Washington’s Evans School of Policy and Governance.
Mike was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado, and currently lives in Seattle, Washington.
Fun fact: He loves to fly-fish and is always sizing up a river when on a road trip.
A people-person with a desire to make an impact, Devanie moves projects forward while building and maintaining strong relationships. At White River Strategy, she serves as a Senior Consultant on many of the team’s projects while also supporting the team’s interns and part-time contractors.
Before starting at White River Strategy in 2019, Devanie spent seven years in the philanthropic sector. She served as the Vice President of Leadership Programs at El Pomar Foundation, where she was responsible for the oversight of the foundation’s Fellowship and Internship programs as well as several strategic planning and grantmaking initiatives. In this role, she developed a strong base in program development and operations, people management, and nonprofit knowledge.
Devanie attended the University of Denver for her undergraduate degree and earned her MA in education with an emphasis in policy, organization, and leadership studies from Stanford University.
Raised in Gunnison, Colorado, Devanie and her fiancé are taking advantage of the remote world to explore new places and accumulate additional degrees. They are currently based out of Ann Arbor, MI.
With experience in financial services, social media, and project management, Chelsea plays an important and versatile role on the White River Strategy team. Chelsea primarily serves in a project management capacity, utilizing her exceptional organizational and communication skills to expertly manage project timelines and deliverables. She is also responsible for many of the marketing and branding efforts.
Prior to joining the White River Strategy team, Chelsea worked as a freelance marketing, social media, and project management professional.
Chelsea attended Colorado State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Apparel and Merchandising.
Chelsea splits her time between Colorado and Whitefish, Montana where she can be found skiing every chance she gets.
Project manager & Associate consultant
At White River Strategy, she serves in a dual role as both a project manager and associate consultant. Oh, did we mention she also does some graphic design? Kaitlin brings a unique combination of organizational and operational skills as well as a background in nonprofits and philanthropy, rendering her invaluable in both internal and external roles.
Prior to joining White River Strategy in 2020, Kaitlin spent five years in the social sector. She served as the associate vice president for community stewardship at El Pomar Foundation and as the Rural Funders Learning Network director for the Colorado Association of Funders.
Kaitlin attended the University of Denver for her undergraduate degree and earned her MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.
Born and raised in Wray, Colorado, she currently resides on her family cattle ranch in Kit Carson.
Fun fact: Kaitlin’s goal is read 200 books in two years. Last year she read 91!
